Sources and methodology
The site calculates Finnish holiday dates from repeatable calendar rules and labels each date by whether it is an official Finnish public holiday or a commonly observed non-statutory day.
How dates are calculated
Fixed-date holidays use their calendar date. Easter-related holidays are calculated from Western Easter. Midsummer Day and All Saints' Day follow their Saturday date rules.
How day-off status is classified
Official public holidays are separated from commonly observed days such as Christmas Eve, Midsummer Eve, May Day Eve, and New Year's Eve. Unofficial days can still be free days in practice, but that depends on the workplace, collective agreement, or employer policy.
Employment note
This site is a planning and calendar tool, not legal advice. Pay, work obligation, and substitutions for a specific employee can depend on law, collective agreements, employment contracts, and work schedules.
